Well, looks like it's my time for my once a year blog. ;) Where to begin... I guess the most life altering thing would be that both of my daughters were in a serious car wreck. Haileigh had to recieve 15+ stitches in her forhead and Taylor tweeked her shoulder and back. They flipped my car several time, but God is good, and they walked away from what could of been a VERY serious situation. Rob and I are starting Cleansing Stream. Jeezzeee they sure believe in ALOT of homework!!!! No wonder people are iffy about doing it. Hopefully it will straighten out a few of my priorities that have gotten out of whack. I don't know... It seems like the closer we get to Haze's Grad., the farther she is moving away from us. I know this is normal, but it is still very painful. Oh well, time will tell....

Happy New Year!!

Wow.. what a year that was!! We have had so many changes in our lives. I started working back at the old elementary where I first started. Rob was working horrid hours at Paramount farms, and then he was "laid off” with 2 days notice. I won a used car in a drawing, which promptly broke down when we got it into the driveway. :( We will sell it as soon as we get it running. We had a series of thefts at our house. My daughter's boyfriend had his stereo stolen while his truck was in our driveway. Then our Christmas decorations started disappearing. When ppl start stealing Christmas stuff, I think they've gone too far!! But I will tell you this; I will NOT let them ruin the meaning of Christmas. I have learned to rejoice about the little as well as the big things.

Now on to happier things, I have found a new website started by ppl who love the Mitford series of books that I mentioned in an earlier blog. It has bulletin boards full of great people and just about every topic you can think of. I really recommend this site to anyone who really wants to take a chance and meet some wonderfully charming characters that are not in a book. ;) Maybe I'll see you on the "porch".

*S* Things just don't seem to be getting any better for Rob on the job front. He's been out of work for over a month now and we are getting down to the nitty gritty. I'm starting to have some MAJOR anxiety about this whole situation. The sucky thing is that it is very hard to enjoy this wonderful time of the year. I'm really starting to get worried. Please keep our family in your prayers. Have a Merry Christmas and please remember the REAL reason for the season...and in doing so, you might help me do the same. :)

Well, we're finally out of school for 2 weeks. YAHHOOOO!! ;) This morning, though, we went to help a local youth outreach paint and generally update thier building. What a fun group. It was really a blessing to be a part of something that is important to our youth. I have also found a series of books that are great! If you have never heard of the Mitford series, you are really missing out. The author is Jan Karon, and the books are about the townfolk of Mitford. Please look into these. They will bless you and make you feel at home. Life in general is still in total upheaval. I don't know why I'm not more upset or worried. I guess the Lord is taking it upon Himself to keep me calm. THANK GOODNESS!! Otherwise I'd be a blubbering wreck. Anyone out there who prays..please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers for strength and acceptance of what lies ahead. Thanks

We just finished with the second night of our living nativity at our church. I was a cue person and Rob was a King(Frankencinse). The preformance was AWESOME!!! The response of our small community was overwhelming. One of the spectators came up after a preformance, asked for prayer and then decided to accept Jesus right there!! What an amazing thing! It was such a blessing to be apart of.

I have finally come to the realization that we puny mortals have absolutely no control over our lives! I'm not talking about the day to day drudgery, I'm talking about the free-falling, can't catch your breath moments that change your life, even if it is in a small way. Sometimes these are good changes, sometimes bad. I just know that personally, the changes are hard for me. I like simplicity. I like knowing what is going to happen. I LIKE knowing that we will be able to get to the next month and keep our heads above water. Many would call this boring, I call it comforting. I believe leaving your "comfort zone" is highly over rated. I enjoy knowing that my family is well and that everyone is reasonably happy. The Lord has truely blessed me and I do thank Him for the good and the bad. I feel that during the bad, you can choose to let it defeat you, or let it teach you. These bad times just tend to wear you out. :) I guess my Christmas wish would be this... That my family would be happy, healthy, and most of all greatful for the blessings they have.

Well, the book "Girl with a Pearl earring" turned out to be fairly good. As I said before, it would be a good "summer" read. It's a little depressing but that could be due to the fact that living then was a fairly hard life, at least for the servants. Anyway, borrow it if you can... I'm still looking for a book that will "knock my socks off". I felt like that when I read "Divine secrets of the YaYa sisterhood". That was a GREAT book!! It really makes you want to have close friends that know you inside and out, but never judge you.
