Hi again from HOT California, our temperature is going to be a cool 98 today. Woo-hoo.

Speaking of heat and California I've been looking into alternative energy sources for our home since we're having this "little" power problem here in the state. We haven't been hit by rolling blackouts in the little town of Exeter, but where my office is in Visalia has! It's just a matter of time. The San Joaquin Valley is notoriously hot in the summer months.

Anyway, here are some links to get you started down the alternative energy source trail... Enjoy!

Flex Your Power

Here's the system I'm interested in, Siemens Solar earthsafe(tm).

Howdy Y'All....

It looks like racism is alive and well in this fine country of ours, that's really incredible to me. Funny thing is in this case it runs the other direction and probably won't receive the type of attention it would have otherwise. What am I talking about?

Seems ESPN is running an article on Kellen Winslow Junior's struggle to choose a University to attend. So what's so weird about that? Kids all over America have to make these choices every day, and it's not an easy one to make. Especially if you're a talented athlete pursued by different schools making all kinds of promises. What makes this case special, and racist in my humble opinion, is that Kellen Winslow Sr. wanted his son to choose a school based on the color of it's football coach. Say what! I'm probably going to get all kinds of grief if anyone out there actually reads this particular piece but I really don't care. Let the flames begin!

And please don't call me a racist. I'm far from it, believe it or not. Choices like this are hard enough to make without throwing skin color into the equation. Geez I'd think he'd want his son to pick a place where he could actually get a really good education. Granted he should be safe to walk the streets at night, but that has nothing to do with the football coach of the school does it?

Here's a question for you. What would happen if a "white" kid decided he couldn't accept an offer from a school because the color of the coaches skin was black?

We have some BIG problems in the country and discrimination based on skin color is just pathetic. We're never going to get anywhere as a people until we can get past that difference.

I'll just leave you with that...
