Movie line of the week answer

Yesterday's movie line was from Waynes World. Our winner was Mr. Jeff Gilbert (No weblog, YET! We're working on him though).

The usual suspects came in a bit late; and we even had a couple of newbies answer, including Mr. Dave Winer!

Sorry but I'm in a big hurry this morning, I have a lovely two hour meeting to attend.

Thanks to everyone for playing!

Movie line of the week

Yep, believe it or not it's movie line time. With the help of a friend I had this line picked out on Monday. Thanks David.

Here's the line....

If she were President she'd be Babraham Lincoln.

Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here.

Dumb, dumb, and dumb!

The Dallas Morning News says you cannot link to anything other than it's homepage. This is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen. (ok maybe not the most, but close!) The amateurs will kick the slats out of the pros if they continue to make calls like that. [via Scripting News]

Mornin' Y'All...

I talked on Monday morning how I'd read an article I liked over the weekend, but couldn't remember what magazine I'd read it in. It was in Smart Business. I read another article from that same issue last night entitled "It's Payback Time". It talks about online expense reporting/management. Excellent stuff. If you've ever logged any miles and had to submit expense reports you should definitely read this article. It may save your company some money and make your employees VERY happy. At Microsoft we have an excellent "home brewed" expense reporting mechanism with super quick turn around. I think ours is good but some of the systems in the article seem to have better features, like automagically adding your credit card swipes to your expense report. Excellent! Give it a look.

Old guy vs. young guy.

It's funny how your mind changes as you grow older. You pick different battles. Often times the battles you fought as a youngster just don't seem to make sense once you get a little older. Maybe it's wisdom, maybe it's laziness. I dunno.

Here's a nice little story about a conversation between the "old" guy and the young guy. Enjoy.

Farmers are important

Visalia Times Delta: "After decades in second place, Tulare County last year became the nation's No. 1 agricultural county." - You may not know it but the San Joaquin Valley is important to you.

Half-pint night

Last night I hit the hard stuff, I had to. It's been a long month and I'm tired and cranky. My wife and I get to say "Hi" to each other about 9:00 every evening before she scoots off to bed. It's softball season in the Fahrni household. Kim is coaching the Junior High J.V. team and a City League team and I'm coaching a City League team. Couple that with a milestone date approaching at work and you don't get much rest. So that being said, if I bite your head off or seem a little out of sorts I'm sorry.

That half-pint of of Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby helped a lot last night.

Technology, ooooo-ahhhhh-ohhhhh

NY Times: "It's digital. It's wireless. It's local. It offers high-speed Internet access. It is akin to digital cable — but without any cables." - Sweet, please install this in the little town of Exeter, CA. Thank you. I'm not too particular about who does it to be honest. I'm dying out here in the sticks waiting for a good high-speed provider.

The new eMac looks pretty darned interesting. I wonder if my wife can get a discount since she's a teachers assistant? Honey are you reading this?

Yeah, yeah, I know... I still have a hankering for a Mac. I just can't help myself.

Weekend Reading

Well I was going to share some weekend reading with you but I can't remember what magazine I was reading! DOH! The article was fabulous. It was about companies saving money, cost cutting. Some of it was absolutely brilliant some was just plain common sense. My favorite story was about an Ice Company saving $125,000.00US by using a custom solution written for the Palm. That's the real world.

DOH!

Software patents suck! Adobe is dragging Macromedia into court over a patent issued for "tabbed palettes", can you believe that? That's about as stupid as Amazon's "one-click" technology, or this patent. [via News.com]

Don't even get me started.

Has anyone tried to patent stupidity? You could probably make a bundle.
